Q: Tell us a little about yourself.

A: I am an opera singer/actress currently working in New York City. Since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be a performer. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in music. I am an old soul and I love everything Disney, Barbie and Marilyn Monroe.

Q: What was the house you grew up in like?

A: I had the perfect childhood home, with my elementary school within walking distance, a neighborhood filled with kids and an incredible yard to play in. My parents kept it meticulous so you could never tell little kids lived there. It was a wonderful home with great memories.

Q: Explain your health and fitness regime.

A: In New York City, it is easy to get a lot of cardio since I walk nearly everywhere. Just strap on your best shoes and you can go for miles, even if it’s just window-shopping! I try to stay as active as possible, drink plenty of water and stick to a water-based diet limiting refined sugars and white flour. “The Five C’s:” Cookies, Candy, Chips, Cakes, and Chocolate. NO! NO! NO!

Q: What is your advice for staying confident and motivated to staying fit and being healthy?

A: In my case, it is my job: performance. When I feel like my legs are going to give out underneath me and I can’t bear to do another squat, I just think about standing under those hot spotlights and feeling comfortable in my skin. The feeling keeps me focused and determined not to give up. Since 50 percent of my job is my physique, I have to keep it in tiptop shape in order to maintain vocal and physical stamina on stage.

Q: What is your favorite sport?

A: Baseball! It is so engaging and I love it. Mark Teixeira, call me!

Q: What is your greatest strength?

A: My greatest strength would be my determination. I refuse to give up or feel inferior to anything.

Q: Who are your role models and why do you admire them?

A: John Lennon and James Dean. They are the definition of determination. They were persistent with their dreams; they also lived in the moment and walked tall with silent pride. I admire their skills, love for art and their attitudes- they are immortalized.

Q: What is your inner animal?

A: Humpback whale. Crazy, right? There is a beauty and calmness about them that cannot be explained.

Q: What is your favorite healthy dish?

A: Sautéed and steamed vegetables, like bell peppers- my favorite, over a bed of brown rice with a piece of lean meat and a light salad. It is the perfect meal!

Q: What is your PASSION?

A: My passion is performance. Being able to share my gift of song with others is a joy that is hard to put into words.
