Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I work part time as a church secretary and my brother-in-law is my pastor. I am currently in school and trying to get my associate degree as a registered dietician. I am also going to be a full-time mom. You know what that means- full-time taxi!
Q: What was the house you grew up in like?
A: I grew up in a small house in West Covine, California. We moved from East Los Angeles to a white middleclass area. I was very blessed with a great family!
Q: Explain your health and fitness regime.
A: I eat four to six clean meals a day and workout five days a week. I love to mix it up from weights to CrossFit when it is not competition season. However, during competition season, I have many double days and less variety. Yes, I find time to do it all!
Q: What is your advice for staying confident and motivated to staying fit and being healthy?
A: Sometimes it’s tough as you get older to feel confident because nature and age take their course. However, when I see the younger generations fighting with issues of self-image and obesity, I think, “Not so bad momma!” My faith and my kids keep me grounded. We all live the lifestyle together.
Q: What is your favorite sport?
A: I LOVE basketball—the intensity, strength and endurance of it. GO LAKERS!
Q: What is your greatest strength?
A: I am very optimistic, “glass half-full”! I love to breathe an “I CAN” attitude. I am also not a quitter.
Q: Who are your role models and why do you admire them?
A: My parents, they installed values to work hard, make goals, have dreams and never let anyone say you can’t. They lived by it!
Q: What is your inner animal?
A: An eagle—free to soar the highest of heights and see the beauty and majesty below!
Q: What is your favorite healthy dish?
A: Italian chicken! I love fresh chicken sautéed in a little bit of olive oil, fresh tomato, basil, and a splash of white wine. YUM.
Q: What is your PASSION?
A: My passion is helping women see that even in all of their multitasking jobs, they need to stop and take care of themselves. I want to inspire and equip them with healthier lifestyles because they are worth it. Women are not to accept an image of themselves if they don’t like what they see, but to change it and take charge of their beauty from within. I say, “You are never too old to take the first steps to meet your aspirations.”
