Black History Month Self-Guided Tour at the California Museum

This February, the California Museum presents a self-guided Black History Tour highlighting the contributions of Black Californians to our state’s rich history.

Celebrate Black History Month by taking a self-guided journey through the powerful stories of Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers who have shaped California’s history. Focusing on themes of resilience, activism, democracy, and community, this exploration of the California Museum's signature and temporary exhibits highlights notable Black individuals, movements and organizations. Discover trailblazing individuals such as Kamala Harris, Venus and Serena Williams, Willie Brown, and more!

This tour is designed for visitors of all ages to explore the Museum at their own pace using the tour map.

Purchase tickets in advance or at the Museum. Last admission is 4 pm.

Located at 1020 O Street in the March Fong Eu Secretary of State complex in Sacramento, CA, the California Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm. General admission is $8–$10.
