Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to creating a cleaner, more beautiful region through education and active community involvement. KTMB is an affiliate of the national organization Keep America Beautiful. For 30 years they have been working with businesses, municipalities, community groups, and individuals in the Reno-Tahoe area to keep open spaces, the Truckee River, business corridors, and neighborhoods beautiful and clean for all to enjoy. KTMB programs include community-wide cleanup events including illegal dump sites, Christmas tree recycling, Adopt-a-Spot sites, Truckee River Clean Up, Educational programs, and a recycling guide. They also oversee the Sensory Garden at Idlewild Park where their Raise the River fundraiser is held each year.

In 2018, KTMB was responsible for the removal of 158,320 pounds of trash, they planted 14,000 new plants, and they educated 3,965 students through their education programs! For the 2018 Great Community Cleanup alone, they had 820 volunteers, removed 48.54 tons of trash and 15.54 tons of green waste! Way to go KTMB!
