Homemade Protein Bars

Protein Bars and Meal Replacement Shakes are popular for sensible weight loss and fitness people on the go. The ones you find in the supermarket and health food stores are great choices but can often be quite expensive and sometimes laden with a lot of unwanted ingredients and  as unhealthy as a candy bar! So we've found a few favorite of our own on the web and we are glad to  share them with you. Made with love and from the goodness of your own kitchen! Enjoy and Bon Appetit!


The first one is from a site called Money Saving Mom. We like her. She helps busy mom's like us  keep in shape and also keep our hard earned dough in our wallet and our waistlines trim! For the rest of her recipe go to her LOVE it!


Homemade Protein Bars

  •     1 mashed banana
  •     1 1/2 cups dry oatmeal
  •     2 Tablespoons flax seed, groundHomemade-Protein_Bars
  •     2-4 scoops protein powder
  •     1/4 cup peanut butter
  •     1/4 cup shredded coconut
  •     1/4 cup coconut oil or butter, melted
  •     1/4 cup raisins
  •     1/4 cup water
  •     1 large chocolate bar (I used organic dark chocolate) or 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients......... and Money Saving

Almond Joy Protein Bars

  • 2 cups almonds
  • 1/4 cup flax seeds, chia seeds or pumpkin seeds (ground in a coffee grinder or blender)Protein Bars Passion at Homemaking
  • 1/2 cup dried prunes, dates or raisins (we used prunes!)
  • ½ cup shredded coconut (unsweetened)
  • ½ cup peanut or almond butter
  • ½ cup coconut oil or butter (melted)
